Cardi B is hitting back against claims that she and estranged husband Offset failed to pay the rental fee for the mansion used in the “Like That” video.
According to TMZ, the property owners filed a $35,000 lawsuit accusing the former couple of dodging the short-term rental fee. They claim the former couple knew they would have to pay a hefty fee to shoot a music video and so had a rep approach them to shoot a TikTok video for an unnamed client.
However, Cardi B lashed out against the allegations, dropping receipts to back her claims, including a screenshot of a $4,500 payment. She also shared her text conversations with Offset about renting the mansion.
“We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours that same day 6am to 6am the next morning,” she tweeted. “We went over by ONE hour which we paid overage fees to the realtor for in March. There was cameras all over and both the realtors and the owners was there the ENTIRE time… I got pics and videos of them on set!!”
Cardi B Warns “Iron Your Best Suit”
Cardi B continued, addressing the claim that she and Offset tried to deceive the property owners and told them to bring on the legal proceedings.
“Now they wanna finesse us trying to say we told them it was a TikTok video when that was nowhere in the contract,” he added. “Like they didn’t hear the whole song playing and see how long we was shooting….Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok? The problem is people wanna find loopholes and get over but IRON YOUR BEST SUIT B#### I’ll see you in court!!!!”
She also responded to TMZ’s post regarding the lawsuit. “AHT AHT AHT not so fast,” she replied. “Receipts below! Don’t make me put my litigation wig on.”
Cardi B then addressed the lawsuit in a Spaces chat, lashing out against the “greedy” owners and the “ugly” house.
“You ain’t getting s###, b####! Cardi screamed. “I ain’t giving you s###. How you gon’ try to finesse me b####? You ain’t gonna finesse me, b####. I used to be a f###### stripper, hoe. I used to do the finessing over here. Can’t finesse a finesser.”
