Nike may be best known for their sneakers and workout gear, but the athleticwear brand is making a serious fashion play this fall with the release of their “Solo Swoosh” Wool Varsity Jacket.
The varsity jacket is a staple among the music set, seen on everyone from Chris Brown and Justin Bieber, to the Jonas Brothers and Drake. The simple, button-down bomber style instantly classes up an outfit, even if you’re just wearing Nike sweats underneath. Of course, it can also be paired with polo shirts and dressier tops too, for a classic, put together look.
NEW RELEASE
Nike Solo Swoosh Varsity Jacket
This Nike varsity jacket is made from a heavyweight wool blend that will keep you warm and snug. We like the leather trim on the collar and along the side pockets, which add a touch of luxury. We also like how the buttons are the same color as the jacket, giving off a minimalist look and feel. The interior lining, meantime, has a smooth diamond quilting pattern to stay soft and smooth against your skin.
Of course it wouldn’t be a Nike jacket without the iconic Nike swoosh, but we like how simple and subtle it is here, just embroidered on the chest. The whole looks gives off old-school vibes, reminiscent of letterman jackets and football jackets worn in college. Nike says this jacket was actually “built with the same painstaking detail as the vintage [jackets]” which inspired this piece.
The Nike Solo Swoosh Wool Jacket is available in two colors (black and tan) and in sizes XS to 3XL. A great layering piece, the jacket fits slightly oversized so you can wear it over a sweater or hoodie. Size up if you want a more exaggerated and baggy look.
As with all Nike new releases, this one likely won’t stay in stock for long, especially as the chillier temps approach. Snag this Nike Varsity Jacket now for $250 at Nike.com.
