Today, we met up with Jizzyjondabeat for an exclusive interview.
What is your legal name and age?
Jace Alimia and 29 years old
Where are you from?
New Orleans, LA
Why did you first start making music?
Tough times and dark spots throughout my life eventually triggered me to attempt suicide, but the gun didn’t go off either time. It was music that helped me fulfill my purpose and realize im here for a reason.
Have you heard the theory that some musicians write their best music while they’re depressed or going through a bad time?
Yes, most definitely and that tends to be the case with my music. I was in a dark spot for awhile, but music was my light.
How do you solve [common problem – productivity, scheduling, marketing, networking, reducing overwhelm?
I focus on one thing at a time. Once i finish with that one thing, i simply move to the next.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
No matter what you do in life, whether good or bad, people will talk about you. So just be yourself and do what you wanna do however you wanna do it and enjoy your life. Gotta live for you not other people.
What is still your biggest challenge?
I dont measure my challenges size, etc. I look at them all the same with only 1 desired outcome. That is to overcome that challenge.
What were your grades like at school?
Throughout elementary i was a straight A student, middle school A B honor roll, then high school A’s B’s and a few C’s. I graduated with a 3.89 GPA
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Emotional, heartfelt, connecting, inspiring, healing, deep
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received about your music?
Someone told me that they felt every word I said and made them feel like they was that person in the song. Followed by tears and goosebumps from almost everyone that listens to my music. Just the instrumental without lyrics is satisfying enough because you can close your eyes and just vibe to it.
