The Critics Choice Awards — initially scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 12, and then postponed to Jan. 26 due to the wildfires that have devastated the Los Angeles region for the past week — have been postponed again. The ceremony is now set to take place in February, with an exact date to be announced.
It will still be held at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, California.

Chelsea Handler remains onboard as host for the third consecutive year. The live broadcast will air on E! and will be made available for streaming the following day on Peacock. The show had aired on The CW the last seven years in a row.
While the Critics Choice Awards are not as famous with the general public as the Golden Globes or as prestigious and coveted within the industry as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, they have managed to remain viable for 30 years — no small feat in the crowded awards space.
The Critics Choice Awards present awards for both film and television. Conclave and Wicked lead the film nominations with 11 nods each, followed by Dune: Part Two and Emilia Pérez with 10 each. Shōgun leads the television nominations with six, followed by Abbott Elementary, The Diplomat, Disclaimer, Hacks, The Penguin and What We Do in the Shadows with four each.
The L.A. wildfires have played havoc with scheduling of many awards shows. The Grammys are still holding to their Feb. 2 ceremony date, though most Grammy Week parties have been canceled. The Oscars are still holding to their March 2 ceremony date, but they have been forced to extend their voting period and delay the announcement of the nominations twice. The Producers Guild of America has postponed the announcement of their nominations, waiting for a moment where they will not be overwhelmed by wildfire coverage. May that day come soon.
