While fans around the world may feel like they know everything about Anitta, the Brazilian superstar has yet to introduce fans to Larissa — until now. In her upcoming Netflix documentary, titled Larissa: The Other Side of Anitta, the “Envolver” singer — born Larissa de Macedo Machado — gets personal about the private side of her life.

“Larissa is fragile and sensitive. Anitta is super tough,” a voice says in the documentary’s trailer, released Thursday (Jan. 30). The film — told through the gaze of a former crush from her youth — follows her on a journey of self-discovery as she navigates the ups and downs of fame and success. In the documentary, “fans will marvel at not only her career journey but her personal path,” according to an official description of Larissa.
From the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro to global stardom, Anitta became one of Brazil’s most iconic stars. Since cracking the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020 with “Me Gusta” in collaboration with Cardi B and Myke Towers, she’s had two more songs on the Hot 100: “Bellakeo” with Peso Pluma and “Envolver.” The latter became a viral hit that spent one week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, just to name a few of her chart accomplishments.
Last year, she embarked on her first-ever North American tour, in support of her latest album Funk Generation; the set is up for a Grammy in the best Latin pop album category.
The documentary does not yet have a release date, with the press release stating only that it is “coming soon.” Watch the trailer for Larissa: The Other Side of Anitta below:
