In an Instagram post earlier this week captioned “dirtbag girl in a dirtbag world,” Halsey fully embraced their body in pics in which the “Safeword” singer modeled a series of skin-baring outfits. The get-ups ranged from a black sweater and plaid skirt combo to a black lacy thong and push-up bra, a half-shirt reading “Breed Me” and a shot of the black leather studded briefs, black knee-high boots and cropped leather biker jacket and leather hat she word in the BDSM-inspired “Safeword” video.

While they are clearly comfortable in their own skin, the 30-year-old singer said some commenters were fired up about the provocative set of snaps. “I can’t believe how angry everyone is that I wore a push up bra,” she wrote on X. “Damn I really still got it like that.” A fan wondered, “wait who’s angry? The straights?,” to which Halsey responded, “the body cops.”
While at press time it wasn’t clear who was dinging Halsey for the photo shoot, fans in the comments clearly had their back, as evidenced by snap backs on the follow-up tweet that included: “the body cops aren’t the boss of you!!,” “SEND THEM MY WAY,” “luckily people cut from the same cloth march to the beat of our own drum, happily so!,” “they hate to see a beautiful angel look good” and “truly wild how many people are still scared of the female body in 2025.”
According to HuffPo, when another fan tried to defend the singer’s sartorial choices with the comment “Like we ain’t see yo whole [t–ty] on a album cover,” Halsey responded, “Like I didn’t do full frontal on a 100 foot tall IMAX screen,” in seeming reference to her semi-naked appearance in the 2024 slasher movie MaXXXine. “[Be f–king for real.]”
Halsey left little to the imagination in the video for last month’s “Safeword,” which featured them modeling a series of provocative S&M outfits while singing the punk-inspired pop tune. Halsey recently announced the dates for their upcoming spring/summer 2025 Halsey: For My Last Trick tour. The 32-city Live Nation-promoted run in support of the singer’s Columbia Records debut, 2024’s The Great Impersonator, is slated to kick off on May 10 at the Toyota Pavilion at Concord in Concord, CA, keeping them on the road through a July 6 show at the Yaamava’ Theater in Highland, CA.
