On Friday afternoon, Spotify announced that the 37-track album had set a new benchmark as the most streamed country album in 2025 so far. Later in the day, Amazon Music revealed that I’m the Problem had also broken the record for most streamed country record in its first day.
“Morgan Wallen just made country history—again,” Spotify posted on X. Amazon Music also celebrated the achievement in a post shared to its Instagram Story.
This isn’t unfamiliar territory for Wallen. In 2023, his 36-track album One Thing at a Time became Spotify’s most-streamed country album in a single day by a male artist. That project went on to dominate the Billboard 200 for 19 nonconsecutive weeks, setting a new record for the most weeks at No. 1 for a country album. It also ended 2023 as the No. 1 year-end Billboard 200 album and Luminate’s year-end top album.
Wallen’s 2021 release, Dangerous: The Double Album, also topped the Billboard 200 for 10 weeks.
I’m the Problem features high-profile collaborations with Tate McRae (“What I Want”), Eric Church (“Number 3 and Number 7”), HARDY (“Come Back as a Redneck”), ERNEST (“The Dealer”) and Post Malone (“I Ain’t Comin’ Back”). Wallen co-wrote 22 songs on the project and had already released several tracks ahead of the full album, including the Billboard Hot 100-debuting “Love Somebody,” the Hot Country Songs chart-topping title track “I’m the Problem,” along with others like “Just in Case,” “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” and “Lies Lies Lies.”
I’m the Problem dropped the same day Wallen launched his Sand in My Boots festival in Gulf Shores, Ala. The three-day event boasts a diverse lineup featuring Brooks & Dunn, HARDY, Riley Green, Three 6 Mafia, Wiz Khalifa, Ella Langley, Treaty Oak Revival and Wallen himself.
