P-Dice gets five years in federal prison after firing at a pregnant woman in a parking lot and then taunting cops on social media.
P-Dice is heading to federal prison for five years and three months after firing two close-range shots at a pregnant woman in a Clifton, New Jersey, parking lot back in July 2023.
The 38-year-old rapper, whose real name is Justin Pope, pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawfully possessing ammunition as a convicted felon and got sentenced Tuesday by federal prosecutors in New Jersey.
The incident started as an argument inside a vehicle where the woman grabbed Pope’s gun, struck him in the face, and tried to escape.
As she got out of the car, P-Dice pointed the firearm and fired twice at her from close range.
One of those bullets traveled across the street and lodged itself in a menu display inside a quick-service restaurant that was open with employees working inside at the time.
When the woman tried to get back in the car to escape, P-Dice violently yanked at her arm and eventually climbed over her to kick her out of the vehicle.
The whole situation could’ve ended with multiple people dead, but it didn’t. What happened next showed just how reckless P-Dice was.
The day after the shooting, P-Dice posted videos on social media taunting police, saying, “Can’t find me. Police. Y’all never gonna find me” while firing a gun into the air in a residential neighborhood.
He posted a second video of himself driving around, using expletives and continuing to mock law enforcement.
Hours after that second video dropped, cops tracked him down at a New York City bus station where he was trying to board an out-of-state bus while brandishing a firearm at transit employees.
Officers recovered a loaded 9mm ghost gun, a privately made firearm with no serial number and a large-capacity magazine attached.
Ballistics testing confirmed it was the same weapon used in the parking lot shooting.
P-Dice had a prior 2016 conviction for aggravated assault connected to shooting a 7-year-old boy in Paterson, which made him legally barred from possessing any firearms or ammunition.
P-Dice’s history with the music industry adds another layer to this case.
He was formerly part of Fetty Wap’s Remy Boyz crew and appeared in the “679” music video before the two had a falling-out, after which P-Dice was kicked from the group.
P-Dice will also serve three years of supervised release after completing his prison sentence.
