MASQUERADE is a Christmas song, but not quite the kind you might expect.
X.irda teams up with American rapper Slim Spitta for a darker take on the holiday season , one where the lights are bright, the smiles look perfect, and yet something doesn’t quite feel right.

Behind the Christmas lights, there are masks. Behind the celebrations, there are things we don’t always say. And sometimes, the happiest time of the year is just a very good disguise.

Built around dark holiday imagery and an urban Hip-Hop/Rap sound, MASQUERADE plays with the contrast between the Christmas we see and everything that can hide behind it.

It’s a Christmas rap record without really sounding like one.

Something festive. Something dark. Something human.
And maybe that’s why it doesn’t really belong to Christmas alone.
