Today we had an exclusive chance to interview the upcoming artist, Bidney B.
What is your legal name and age?
Legal name and age is Gbinal Dwight Bloe age 21, born October 22, 2001.
What is your stage name and how did you come up with it?
Stage name is “Bidney B”. When I came to the United States October 23rd, 2012 , no one could pronounce or understand my name. I kept telling them my name is Gbinal and they kept calling me g-binal, or gibnal some of them even called me Bidney. Eventually I got tired with no one understanding me and told them to call me Bidney. The name Bidney came from my friends when I attended school at jp2 catholic school.
Where are you from?
I’m from Liberia, a city in Africa. I was born and raised there for 11 years. Life back there was difficult but at the same time easy cause there was no bills to be paid. I’m from a place where people walk miles to get water and food in their house. We had to cook everyday cause there was no refrigerator to store the food. I’m from a half Muslim and Christin background. My grandpa is Muslim and my grandma is Christian.
Where are you now?
Now I’m living good. I struggled to get what I wanted as of right now I’m living stable. Do I wish to live better? Yes!! But everything comes with a price . And everyone has their time to shine.
When did you first start making music?
I started making music when I came to the US. At the age of 12 I started writing and making songs. I used to sing in the church choir back home. Singing has always been my dream. But for a black man to make it as a singer, he really has to have talent and connections cause most black men are rappers .
Who inspired you the most as an artist?
There are only a few artists that inspire me. Beyoncé , Migos, NLE Choppa, Cardi b and Demi lovato. Beyoncé has always inspired me. She works so hard to get to where she is in the industry. Look at her now. I wanna be as famous as her cause she has talent, a great voice and easy to get along with. Every artist on this list inspires me to do music and I can’t wait to meet them.
Whats the best advice you’ve received?
The best advice I ever received is that “everything comes with a price.” The reason why I said that cause what u doing now, will affect what u do or what will happen later in the future. Be good to others , and others will be good to u. I always learned to treat others the way I wanna be treated cause being mean and rude and jealous towards others can come back right on u.
What’s your latest release?
My latest release is called “fake” fake is out now on all platforms. I wrote this song cause growing up, I had so many friends, but I didn’t realize that all those friends who have turned on me. People only want u around when it benefits them, but once it don’t benefit them anymore, they want u gone and start acting weird towards u. A lot of people can relate to my song fake.
Who are the top two artists you want to work with?
The two top artist I have always wanted to collaborate with is Beyoncé and NLE Choppa. We all know Beyoncé is my favorite so she’s always gon be on the list. NLE Choppa music is fire I like his flow, the beat and his lyrics.
What do you want your legacy to be? How do you want to be remembered?
I want my legacy to be huge. I want to be remembered as one of the top artist in the world. I love making catchy and fun music. I don’t really care if u like the lyrics or not, once it makes u turn up, then that’s all that matters to me. I wanna be remembered as one of the best lyricist and one of the best performers and artists.
