In his new studio album, Objetos Frágiles en Ambientes Hostiles, Venezuelan singer/songwriter Lasso delves into themes such as love, heartbreak and the contradictions of human relationships through 11 tracks that showcase an artistic evolution within his pop sound.
Released on Friday (Nov. 6) by Lasso Party under exclusive license from Interscope Records, the set includes previously released singles like “p0rn0grafía,” “superpoder,” “Tu Lunar” and “¡¡¡FELIZ ANIVERSARIO!!!,” alongside new tracks such as “preguntas que me hago,” “Perdóname por esta canción” and “PESADILLAS.” It also features two notable collaborations: the focus track “Borracho Otra Vez” with Ana Mena, and “Ojalá Que No Te Quiera Nadie” with Nina.
Produced by Manuel Lara, the album is rich in nuances, with new textures and arrangements that expand Lasso’s sound, catchy lyrics and his sweet, raspy pop-rock voice. It also marks his first release after parting ways with Universal Music Mexico, the label behind previous projects of his like Eva (2023) and Malcriado (2025).
“I’ve been writing [Objetos Frágiles en Ambientes Hostiles] for two years,” the Latin Grammy-winning artist tells Billboard Español. “I wrote about 200 songs; I’d never written so much before. But this album also comes from a period where I couldn’t release music — I was leaving a record label, and there’s a cool-off period during which you can’t release anything — so all I did was write, write, write. There were moments when I was very sad, and others when I was very happy.”
Out of those 200 songs, he selected the 20 best and, with the help of friends and colleagues, finalized the ones that would make the tracklist. The oldest among the 11 is “PESADILLAS,” while the newest is “¡¡¡FELIZ ANIVERSARIO!!!.”
Regarding the album title, which means “Fragile Objects in Hostile Environments,” Lasso explains that “it’s a dedication to anyone who’s trying to achieve their dreams.”
“The fragile objects are the dreams, and the hostile environment is the world that receives them, telling you, ‘You can’t do it, you’re not good enough, there are already too many like you, or there are too few like you,’ depending on what you’re doing,” he elaborates. “And it’s about that daily struggle of saying, ‘What I’m doing is amazing, and I’m going to convince you, no matter how hard it is.’”
Below, Lasso breaks down five essential tracks from Objetos Frágiles en Ambientes Hostiles.
