Today, we met up with the upcoming artist S0TEL0, for an exclusive interview.
Where are you from?
Denver.Colorado also from Montebello bell side proudly native to Denver and to Montebello
Who influenced you most through out your career?
I’d would say my family but mostly my cousin that passed away two years ago he influence out from career, always wanted to me to succeed to be an artist.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
The best Advice I’d ever receive was from my Mom there was a time that I was on my low and she told me that I have talent an keep on going you will make it one day.
How do you currently feel about the state of Hip-hop in general?
It’s growing and coming back to its roots like it should, We have legends like LL COOL J release his album Eminem with his new album and also new artist like That Mexican OT. Hip Hop is going to continue to grow and still be here.
Why did you first start making music?
Id first started making music when id was like 17 years old from the Boy’s and Girls Club Technology Room they had like different programs on the computer to record music and make beats.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
I’d would say Tech N9ne been listing to his music when since I’d was in highscool his lyrics are insane and his flow
What’s your best advice for handling criticism?
Be yourself don’t worry about what people gotta say do it your way at the end of the day you’re performing and beautiful art.
What is your stage name and how did you come up with it?
My stage name is S0TEL0 it’s basically my last name original it’s Sotelo replace the O with Zeros and also student’s at my highschool will call me Sotelo at the time
Have you heard the theory that some musicians write their best music while they’re depressed or going through a bad time?
Well yeah I’d would say so when an artist feels that way at that certain time he/she basically telling a story of what happened durring in his life or event or even the challenges he/she has to face basically telling the truth. And that’s where best music comes from.
Who do people say you sound like?
Some people say I’d sound like a early Eminem/Slim Shady when he first came out with the Slim Shady Ep. In 1999 and other people say I’d sound like myself and different from other artist
