One of the unspoken fun parts about being a pop star is people showing up to your shows with wacky signs. Typically, they go uncommented on by the artist, but when Justin Timberlake looked out into the crowd at his show at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Friday there was one placard he just couldn’t resist weighing in on.

“OK, I need to know more about this one,” Timberlake said with a sly smile, asking the woman to hold up the sign so everyone else could see it. According to videos of the moment posted on X, the woman’s message read: “Got my tix with my divorce $$.” The crowd erupted in raucous cheers for the fan as she proudly held up the cardboard receipt commemorating her split.
JT couldn’t help but laugh, covering his eyes at one point and asking her name as another fan in the audience yelled a hearty “congratulations girl!”
“Oh, this one over here said, ‘Congratulations girl!,” Timberlake, 43, said with attitude and a finger snap. “I know I’m in Philly right now. That was about the most Philly thing I’ve seen in a long time. ‘I ain’t playin’ with these mens,’” he added. “Very sorry… okay, screw him. You’re here now. We’re so happy to have you.”
The show marked Timberlake’s return to the stage on his Forget Tomorrow world tour after postponing at show at New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Oct. 8 shortly before doors were scheduled to open due to what he deemed “an injury that is preventing me from performing.”
Check out a fan video of JT’s reaction to the sign below.
