TREBLE: Chicago’s Rising Star in R&B

Since making his debut in the Chicago music scene in September 2022, Treble has quickly become a standout artist in the world of R&B. With a unique sound and a deep connection to his roots, Treble’s journey is one of passion, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. We recently had the chance to sit down with Treble to discuss his journey, inspirations, and vision for the future.

Awards and Achievements

In just a short span, Treble has already garnered significant recognition. He won the Ambition Awards Best New Artist in 2023, followed by the prestigious 312 Music Awards Best Male R&B Artist of the Year in 2024. These accolades reflect not only his talent but also the impact he has made on the R&B scene.

Roots and Inspiration

Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Treble’s music is deeply influenced by his upbringing and the rich musical heritage of his ancestors. “Music has gotten me through some of the worst times in my life, but not only has it done that for me, it has been the way of the world since my ancestors,” he explains. “My ancestors hummed and sang their way through some of the most painful moments in time, and I’ve had my fair share of bad moments myself. There were songs that helped me get through. Now I strive to make music that will do the same for others.”

The Timeless Appeal of TREBLE’s Music

One of the highest compliments Treble frequently receives is that his music carries a ’90s R&B feel, a golden era for the genre. “I’m often told that my music reminds folks of the time when R&B music was at its best. Some would say it has a timeless feel to it,” Treble shares, highlighting the nostalgic yet fresh vibe that defines his sound.

Latest Release

Treble’s latest release, “Nobody,” showcases his innovative approach to music. The track features a sample from Aaliyah’s iconic “Are You That Somebody” and was produced by Mani, a talented producer from New Zealand. The song also features LahPat, a national recording artist known for his hit “Rodeo.” This collaboration blends classic and contemporary elements, creating a track that resonates with a wide audience.

Performance Favorites

When it comes to live performances, Treble’s favorite song to perform is the “River Flow Remix” featuring Te’a Songbird. “River Flows was my first hit single and quickly became a crowd favorite, but the remix took the city by storm. It’s one of those tracks that’s always heavily requested because the vibe is so sexy,” he says.

The State of R&B

Discussing the current state of R&B, Treble offers a thoughtful perspective. “R&B remains in a safe space as a genre. I’m an ’80s baby, so I have full memory of the ’90s and how R&B was the mood setter. It made you want to fall and be in love, it encouraged togetherness and helped express emotional vulnerability,” he reflects. Treble believes that R&B will truly thrive again when it recaptures the essence of love and emotional depth.

Expanding Horizons

Treble’s ambitions extend beyond traditional R&B. He is currently exploring various musical genres, including pop, EDM, rock, and even country. “While I love R&B and that’s who I am to my core, I want to make music for the masses, and there’s no better person than myself to do so,” he asserts.

Legacy and Impact

Looking ahead, Treble aims to leave a lasting legacy through his music. “My biggest goal in life is to be remembered as a person who touched and saved many lives with my music. Through my own pain and personal struggles, I want to make music that makes people feel good. I want to bring love back to the house,” he says passionately. Treble’s dedication to his craft and his desire to spread love and resilience shine through in every note he sings.

In just a few short years, Treble has made an indelible mark on the R&B scene. With his eyes set on the future and a heart full of passion, Treble is poised to lead a new wave of R&B, one that honors the past while boldly forging ahead into uncharted territory.
