Machine Gun Kelly is all up in his holiday emotions this Christmas. The rapper-turned-rocker gave Wham!’s snowy season classic “Last Christmas” a revved-up, skatepark vibe for Wednesday night’s A Motown Christmas special on NBC. With his hair knotted up in a pair of double-dutch braids and rocking a baggy black suit with white flames at the knees, MGK ripped through his amped version of the song while strumming a red acoustic guitar.
The performance aired a day after news broke that Kelly and longtime off-and-on love actress Megan Fox had broken up again weeks after revealing that she is pregnant with their first child together. According to E! News, MGK shared a snippet of the performance after it aired on his Instagram Story on Thursday (Dec. 12) with the lyric-derived message “give it to someone special” along with a bandaged heart emoji.
In the performance, MGK sang the iconic lyrics, “Last Christmas, I gave you my heart/ But the very next day you gave it away/ This year, to save me from tears/ I’ll give it to someone special.” Though it’s not clear when the special was taped, a number of reports claim that the couple broke up in late November.
The Transformers star announced on Nov. 11 that she was pregnant in a photo of her baby bump and a snap of her positive pregnancy test on Instagram, writing, “nothing is ever really lost. welcome back 👼🏼❤️.” She tagged MGK, 34, in the post. The pair previously broke up in February 2023, calling off their engagement around three years after they first started dating in 2020. They reportedly reunited at some point in 2023, with Fox revealing that November that she had lost a pregnancy during their relationship.
The couple’s latest split drew the attention of Fox’s ex, actor Brian Austin Green — with whom she had three sons — who told a TMZ reporter, “He’s in his 30s, right? But in your 30s, I don’t know, grow up. Like, you know, she’s pregnant.”
