Drake Calls for Tory Lanez’s Freedom During Drizzmas Giveaway Stream: ‘[Free] Up T’

Drake has once again shown his support for Tory Lanez, who remains behind bars. The 6 God called for the Canadian singer’s freedom during Thursday night’s (Dec. 26) Drizzmas Giveaway stream with Adin Ross.
At one point in the stream, Drake expressed how hyped he was for Young Thug to be home following his yearslong legal battle, and Drizzy revealed he has music in the stash with Thugger on the way.
“Shout-out to Thug, I can’t wait until Thug drops. Drake and Thugger, of course,” he said. “W Thug, welcome home!” Thug is yet to release new music since being released from jail on Oct. 31 after striking a plea deal to bring his involvement in the YSL RICO case to a close.
Before toasting a shot of alcohol, Drake gave Tory Lanez a shout-out. “3 up T, man. 3 up T,” Drizzy stated while calling for Lanez to be released. “I know they don’t want to hear me say that. 3 up T.”
“Three” is a play on words, meaning “free” or the number “3” signifying broken handcuffs. Drake previously voiced his support for Tory earlier this year when he posted an Instagram Story in February with a photo of the incarcerated singer with the caption, “3 you.”
Drake and Tory Lanez were feuding in the mid-2010s but appeared to squash their beef in 2017 with a simple Instagram post. Drizzy then brought Lanez out at his OVO Fest the same year where they performed “Controlla” together.
Tory Lanez — born Daystar Peterson — is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion following a drunken dispute in July 2020.
Lanez was convicted on three felony counts including assault with a semiautomatic firearm; carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
