DDG has aired out the visitation issues he’s apparently experiencing with Halle Bailey over their son, Halo, which he discussed in a new song titled “Don’t Take My Son.”

The rapper released the Cash Cobain-produced track on Saturday (March 8), when he addressed the alleged problems surrounding the custody of his one-year-old son. “Don’t take my son because he’s all I got/ I’m just having fun, I don’t love these thots,” he raps on the chorus.
DDG claims in the song that Bailey is trying to make him pay to see his son. “Tryna make me pay to see my son, that’s gonna make me hot,” he continues.
The 27-year-old provided additional context to the situation surrounding Halo when hopping on a stream on Saturday. “I don’t like putting y’all in my business, but I don’t know what else to do. But, I know the internet moves people,” he added. “I just want to see my son, that’s it. I love being a dad and I want to be a dad, plain and simple. I think I’m the first n—a to ever be canceled for wanting to be a dad. It’s dudes out here that get glorified for being deadbeats.”
DDG later admitted that he didn’t want to take Bailey to court over custody of their son because that “makes everything more messy than what it is.”
Billboard has reached out to Halle Bailey’s representatives for comment.
Bailey gave birth to their son, Halo, in December 2023. Bailey and DDG announced they would be splitting in October 2024. The pair went public with their relationship in January 2022.
“Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true,” DDG said at the time of last year’s break-up. “We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we’ve build and the beautiful moments we’ve shared.”
