Dua Lipa Ends Australian Tour With ‘Big Jet Plane’ and Angus Stone Cameo

Dua Lipa wrapped the Australian leg of her Radical Optimism world tour on March 29 with one last surprise for Sydney fans: a stripped-back duet of “Big Jet Plane” alongside Angus Stone.
The crowd at Qudos Bank Arena joined in on the sing-along as Lipa closed out her eight-show arena run with the Hottest 100-winning 2010 single, originally released by sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone. “It felt really perfect to end on this next song,” Lipa told fans onstage. “Seeing as I’ve gotta get on a big jet plane tomorrow!”
Julia was MIA, but Angus—who also records as Dope Lemon—was there to lead the crowd in what felt like a full-circle Aussie music moment. It wasn’t his first time joining an international star onstage for the song: in 2023, he performed it with Post Malone in Melbourne during the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ support slot.
Throughout the tour, Lipa paid tribute to a different Australian artist each night, covering everything from pub rock classics to contemporary bangers—sometimes with special guests. The tour kicked off in Melbourne with a full-throttle rendition of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell,” followed by Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn,” Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” and a standout moment where she brought out Troye Sivan for “Rush.”
Other local tributes included Vance Joy (“Riptide”), INXS (“Never Tear Us Apart”), and show-stopping appearances from Troye Sivan, and Kevin Parker of Tame Impala for “The Less I Know the Better.” All eight covers highlighted a different era of Australian music and showcased Lipa’s deep appreciation for the country’s diverse soundscape.
The run marked the first Australian tour in support of Radical Optimism, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart in May 2024. The album earned 51,500 copies sold in its first week in the U.S., according to Luminate, making it her biggest sales week to date.
Lipa is now set to resume the Radical Optimism world tour in New Zealand.
