HAIM Say Stevie Nicks Is ‘The Greatest Human Being’ While Teasing New Song

HAIM have confirmed that their long-rumored collaboration with Stevie Nicks is real — but it’s not tied to their next studio album.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live this week, the trio sat down with host Andy Cohen to chat about their new single “Relationships,” their upcoming album I Quit, and their time in the studio with the legendary Fleetwood Mac frontwoman.
During the fan Q&A portion of the segment, a viewer asked what the band could share about their work with Nicks. The trio kept her cards close to their chest, with Alana replying, “We can’t say much, but what we can say is that Stevie Nicks is the greatest human being on this planet.”
Danielle added, “And the song is really good.”
When pressed further, the sisters revealed the song won’t appear on I Quit.
“It is not [on the album],” Alana confirmed. “It’s for something.”
“Sorry to be so cryptic, y’all,” Este added.
Andy Cohen then joked, “The Smurfs movie?” to which Este deadpanned, “Yeah. Totally,” while Alana added, “Not that,” sparking laughter from the audience.
The group has long been vocal about their admiration for Nicks. They’ve previously joined her onstage — including a standout performance of “Rhiannon” during Fleetwood Mac’s 2018 MusiCares tribute — and often cite her as a guiding force in their careers.
Elsewhere in the interview, the band opened up about the unusual journey behind their new single “Relationships,” which they revealed was written over seven years ago.
Danielle Haim recalled that she started the song while flying between Melbourne and Sydney. “We knew it was special,” she said. “And we came home and showed people. We really wanted to make the song and a lot of people just didn’t get it. Didn’t get the essence of it.”
Alana added, “But we knew it was special, so we held onto it for seven years. We kept it alive.”
The track eventually found its home on I Quit, produced by the band and their longtime collaborator Rostam Batmanglij (Clairo, Vampire Weekend). “We figured it out,” Danielle said. “And now it’s on I Quit, and we’re so excited.”
HAIM’s fourth studio album, I Quit, is due later this year. Though no official release date has been announced, the band has described it as their most personal and emotionally charged record yet — and one that sees them taking even greater creative control.
While the Stevie Nicks collaboration may not appear on the LP, the band’s cryptic hints suggest it could still drop soon — and with Nicks involved, expectations are already sky-high.
