Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Warriors Gets Broadway Premiere Date

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Warriors musical hits Broadway in spring 2027 and Hip-Hop fans can’t wait to see what the play will be like.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is bringing “Warriors” to Broadway next spring, and the Hip-Hop world’s about to witness something special.

The musical adaptation of the 1979 cult classic film “The Warriors” will begin previews in March 2027 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, with an official opening in April, according to Deadline.

This marks Miranda’s first new full-length original stage musical since “Hamilton” changed everything about how Broadway tells stories.

Miranda and Eisa Davis wrote the book, music, and lyrics for “Warriors,” which flips the script on the original film by centering a female gang navigating New York City after being framed for a murder they didn’t commit.

“The Warriors” film itself became foundational to Hip-Hop culture, influencing everything from visual aesthetics to storytelling, with NWA’s “100 Miles and Runnin” video directly referencing the movie’s iconic gang dynamics and street narrative.

Miranda’s already proven he understands how to weaponize Hip-Hop as artistic expression through “Hamilton,” which used rap, R&B, and Hip-Hop production techniques to reimagine American history for a generation that grew up with Biggie, Nas, and Eminem.

“Warriors” continues that legacy by treating the source material with the same respect Hip-Hop artists bring to sampling and recontextualizing culture.

Casting announcements haven’t dropped yet, but tickets go on sale in October 2026.
