Pooh Shiesty stays locked up while prosecutors argue he’s too dangerous to release pending his February 2027 trial in the Gucci Mane robbery case.
Pooh Shiesty remains locked up while federal prosecutors continue building their case that he’s too dangerous for the streets.
The Memphis rapper’s latest court filing shows prosecutors aren’t backing down from their position that no bond conditions could possibly protect the community from what they say he represents. .
His father and co-defendant Big30 have already secured release, but Pooh Shiesty’s situation keeps getting worse as the legal system tightens its grip.
The whole situation started when nine people, including Pooh Shiesty and his father, allegedly orchestrated an armed robbery and kidnapping at a Dallas studio in January.
According to prosecutors, they held three men at gunpoint during what was supposed to be a contract negotiation, forcing one of them to sign a release document. .
The target was Gucci Mane, and the incident has spiraled into a federal case that’s consumed the Memphis rap scene. This wasn’t some random street beef, it was calculated and coordinated.
According to Fox 13 Memphis, prosecutors wrote that “no condition of release can protect the community or witnesses against Williams Jr. from the danger he poses.”
They went further, claiming he’s shot at least two people and leads a Memphis street gang with roughly 100 members who can be summoned at will.
The government’s argument is straightforward: this man is a threat, period.
Meanwhile, his co-defendants have gotten out. Big30 was granted a $100,000 bond with home detention and electronic monitoring, while Pooh Shiesty’s father received a $250,000 bond with strict house arrest, only allowed to leave for court appearances.
The contrast is stark. Both men are facing the same charges, yet Pooh Shiesty remains behind bars while they navigate the system from home.
His trial date has been pushed back to February 22, 2027, giving prosecutors and defense attorneys months to prepare their cases.
The Gucci Mane robbery case represents one of hip-hop’s most bizarre legal situations, mixing contract disputes with federal charges.
Prosecutors are making it clear they believe Pooh Shiesty is the most dangerous player in this scenario, and they’re fighting hard to keep him locked up until trial.
Federal prosecutors have also indicated they may pursue additional charges related to his alleged gang affiliations and prior violent incidents.
