KATSEYE Marvel At Their Rapid Rise to Global Stardom in First High-Energy Trailer For ‘KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS’ Film

If it seems like Grammy-nominated international girl group KATSEYE had a wildly rapid rise to fame, don’t worry, they think so too. In the fast-paced first trailer for the vocal group’s upcoming special theatrical release KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, member Sophia Laforteza wonders, “How did we get to this point so quickly?”

As their recent hit “Pinky Up” pounds away in the background, the minute-long trailer blends live performance footage with grueling dance rehearsal tape as singer Daniela Avanzini sighs an exhausted, eye-rolling, “Bro …” and Megan Skiendiel adds, “we always had that chaotic-ness” amid a quick-cut of behind-the-scenes goofing off.

While some of the trailer does include glimpses of currently on-hiatus co-founder Manon Bannerman, the singer is not featured on her own in the trailer. “KATSEYE’s first-ever cinema event celebrates the passionate EYEKONS community that has embraced KATSEYE’s journey from the group’s formation to becoming one of pop’s most exciting new global acts,” said Kymberli Frueh, EVP of programming and content acquisitions for Trafalgar Releasing in a statement. “We are excited to bring the fandom together in theaters around the world for a shared, immersive experience.”

The film promises to include never-before-seen footage, as well as fan videos from the group’s loyal EYEKONS, intimate interviews with the act — which also includes singer Lara Raj and Yoonchae — in an exploration of the intimate bond between the singers and their fans. It will follow the intense pressure put on the performers during their formation on the 2023 reality TV competition series Dream Academy, which was later chronicled on the Netflix series Pop Star Academy: Katseye, as well as their rapid rise to global chart-topping stardom.

The film, directed by Nadia Hallgren (Becoming), is from the same team behind Pop Star Academy, with production by Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures in partnership with HYBE X GEFFEN.
