Pooh Shiesty Denied Bond Again, Called

Pooh Shiesty’s $700,000 private security proposal failed to persuade a federal judge, who ruled the rapper must remain jailed until his 2027 trial.
Pooh Shiesty remained behind bars Tuesday after a federal judge rejected his latest bid for pretrial release.
Shiesty’s defense put in a robust proposal for around the clock private security costing as much as $700,000 as he awaits trial in the high profile kidnapping and extortion case involving rapper Gucci Mane.
The Memphis artist, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams, appeared in federal court in Dallas seeking bond for the second time. His legal team argued that strict supervision by a private security company would ensure he complied with any release conditions until his trial begins on Feb. 22, 2027.
Brandon Bess, chief investigator for Houston based PPI Security, testified that the company could provide protection and monitoring comparable to the level of security used for an attorney general. U.S. District Judge David Godbey declined to release Shiesty.

“There is no condition or combination of conditions that would protect the public,” Godbey said before describing Williams as a “dangerous person.”
Federal prosecutors argued the alleged offenses involving Gucci Mane took place while the rapper was serving supervised release following his conviction in a separate federal firearms conspiracy case.
Williams pleaded guilty to that firearms charge in 2022 and was released to home confinement in Frisco, Texas, in October 2025.
According to prosecutors, just three months later Shiesty arranged what appeared to be a business meeting with Gucci Mane at a Dallas recording studio to discuss the terms of his recording agreement with The New 1017 Records.
Court filings allege Shiesty invited Davis into a recording booth, pulled out an AK style firearm commonly known as a Draco and forced the Atlanta rap star to sign paperwork releasing him from his recording contract at gunpoint.
Authorities allege the footage was recorded by fellow Memphis rapper Big30, who was present during the encounter.
Prosecutors have also alleged Pooh Shiesty maintained an inappropriate relationship with one of the officials assigned to supervise his release. According to court records, the supervisor allegedly created fraudulent day passes allowing Williams to travel to locations that had not been approved by the court, including on Jan. 10. The supervisor has since been fired.
Pooh Shiesty has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including kidnapping and extortion.
Pooh Shiesty will remain in federal custody until when proceedings begin in February 2027.
