Mistah F.A.B. has addressed his recent arrest tied to an alleged illegal fireworks operation, breaking his silence in a lengthy social media video where he thanked supporters, praised law enforcement’s handling of the situation and reflected on what he described as a life-changing experience behind bars.

The Bay Area rapper and community activist did not directly dispute the charges or discuss the specifics of the case. Instead, he framed the ordeal as an opportunity for personal growth while maintaining that his intentions had always been rooted in serving his Oakland community.

“If I am guilty of anything it is observing my community being a neighborhood hero continuing to put community first and creating safe environment for the children and for the community to come together,” Mistah F.A.B. said.

The rapper acknowledged that authorities believe laws may have been violated.

“There were some penal codes that may have been broken,” he said, while insisting his focus had been on creating a celebration for local families.

Rather than criticizing the officers involved in his arrest, Mistah F.A.B. offered unexpected praise for law enforcement, saying they treated him professionally throughout the process.

“I want to send a big shout out to the law enforcement that handled things so professionally,” he said. “They didn’t demonize me or use excessive force.”

One of the most revealing moments of the nearly 10-minute statement centered on his time in custody. Mistah F.A.B. said it marked the first time in his adult life he had ever been incarcerated, describing the experience as emotionally difficult but spiritually transformative.

“For the first time in my adulthood… I got a chance to sit in stillness, and I heard what I was supposed to do. I heard my mission,” he said.

He compared the experience to a caterpillar entering a cocoon, suggesting the arrest forced him into a period of reflection that ultimately strengthened his resolve.

Mista FAB also thanked supporters across the country who reached out after news of his arrest spread online, saying the outpouring of encouragement reinforced his commitment to community service despite the negative headlines.

“I show up to every fight with the same attitude, with the same energy, with the same love,” he said. “I’m not here to blame nobody.”

The rapper acknowledged one of the hardest parts of the ordeal was missing his daughter’s school orientation while he was in custody, calling it the darkest moment of the experience.

Still, he said he refuses to let the controversy alter his outlook.

“When you put yourself out there as a positive light and a positive image you’ll be challenged,” Mistah F.A.B. said. “Will you still keep that positive attitude? I’m gonna stay optimistic no matter what.”

He closed his message by telling supporters he is “OK,” “blessed” and carrying a renewed sense of purpose after what he described as hearing “the sound of silence” for the first time in his life.

The criminal case stemming from the fireworks investigation remains pending, and prosecutors have not yet responded to Mista FAB’s comments.
