A pair of custom SKYLRK sneakers worn by Justin Bieber during his 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show performance just raised serious money for a children’s charity. Christie’s auction house announced on Wednesday (July 29) that the Matter Daddy line of kicks from the singer’s SKYLRK apparel line JB was sporting while singing the acoustic ballad “Everything Hallelujah” during the July 19 Spain v. Argentina final sold for nearly $30,000.
The final amount paid for the low-top shoes in the “latte” colorway with light pink accents, $26,400 — more than 10 times the initial estimate of $2,000-$4,000 — will benefit the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund as part of the auction house’s One Goal auction. The $100 million initiative is aimed at expanding access to education and soccer for children around the world.
Bieber briefly wore the shoes during his performance at the first-ever FIFA final halftime show, which also featured Madonna, BTS, Shakira and Burna Boy, the Muppets’ Electric Mayhem band, Gustavo Dudamel and the New York Philharmonic and a finale featuring set curator Chris Martin of Coldplay playing the original song “We Dance” with the PS22 Chorus.
According to Christie’s, Bieber debuted the Matter Daddy line in this particular colorway during the World Cup finale at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium and his shoes were joined by some other keepsakes in the auction that also raised major bucks, including clothing and accessories worn by BTS that raised more than $300,000.
Among the items snapped up by fans were the bright yellow costume worn by Shakira in the official “Dai Dai” music video ($8,250), an Earth Ball soccer ball signed by Shakira, Kaka and FIFA president Gianni Infantino ($3,850) and a pair of bright pink, bedazzled fingerless gloves worn by Madonna during her halftime opening set ($41,800).
A number of items word by BTS during their run through their Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 smash “Dynamite” also went under the gavel, raising $300,300 for the charity, including: RM’s chunky Untitled-03 black boots ($19,800), black and red fingerless gloves worn by j-hope ($28,600), a red leather belt worn by Jin ($16,500), red leather pants with a sewn-in silk scarf featuring the names of all the BTS members worn by Suga ($33,000), a custom black silk scarf featuring the group’s name, demon faces and soccer balls worn by V ($46,200), the red, black and white motocross jacket worn by Jung Kook ($46,200) and a white and red jersey with BTS patches worn by Jimin ($110,000).
The two-page handwritten lyric sheet for Coldplay’s “We Dance” — featuring the lyrics on one page and the halftime show’s setlist on another — with Martin’s signature and a message of love went for $15,400 and a blue World Cup Earth ball inscribed with the names of the halftime performers by Martin brought in more than $6,000.
