Playa Pat faces 20 years to life after federal convictions tied to a multimillion-dollar marijuana and money laundering operation.

Playa Pat faces 20 years in federal prison after his conviction exposed a multimillion-dollar marijuana network behind the Pensacola rapper’s image.

Trial evidence showed Playa Pat moved hundreds of kilograms of potent marijuana from the Seattle area into Pensacola between 2020 and 2025.

Prosecutors said the operation produced millions while Playa Pat reported no legitimate income and poured proceeds into a Lamborghini Urus, jewelry and luxury watches.

Before the case reached trial, AllHipHop covered his sold-out hometown show with Rob49 and his 2023 debut single “Trap Blessed,” which preceded plans for the album Spot Boomin.

“I’ve been liking music since the jit, like since real young type s###. Even before since I was a teenager I used to be listing to s###,” Playa Pat said. “I used to listen to Lil Boosie and sh*t from New Orleans and Texas. Then it graduated to Future and listening to other stuff.”

He said the project would include three Metro Boomin-produced records, although available reporting does not establish that Spot Boomin received an official release.

Playa Pat said, “Me and my boy Dollah Dae are trying to put it together and there’s a bunch of stuff that I’m ready to put out and shoot. I get a good response, people say I’m turnt and I go hard, but I had this lil Birthday bash that I put together and it was completely sold out, that showed me they know whats up.”

Playa Pat, legally named Jovon Booker, pleaded guilty before jury selection to drug conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and five jewelry-related laundering counts.

A federal jury convicted the 33-year-old Thursday of discharging a handgun during drug trafficking and possessing another firearm to advance that operation.

Jurors also heard that Playa Pat shot a co-conspirator at close range inside Paparazzi Bistro & Lounge over a drug debt in May 2024.

“This case exemplified the unified commitment of our state and federal law enforcement partners to keep our communities safe by ridding our streets of a violent, drug peddling thug,” Heekin said.

The verdict replaces that hometown momentum with severe federal stakes because Playa Pat now faces a mandatory minimum of 20 years and possible life imprisonment.

Judge M. Casey Rodgers will sentence Playa Pat on November 5 after authorities seized more than $500,000 in cash, vehicles, guns and jewelry.
