Adéla is on the rise, and her anticipated debut album PRIMA might send her straight to the top.
Before launching her solo career, the Slovakian singer/songwriter first came to the attention of many music fans as a contestant on The Debut: Dream Academy, the HYBE x Geffen competition series that ultimately formed the global girl group KATSEYE. Though her time in the competition was brief, her presence in pop music continued to grow in the aftermath. She gained further visibility through Netflix’s Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, which documented the yearslong process behind the group’s formation.

After steadily building her solo career with a string of bold pop releases, Adéla is preparing to introduce listeners to her debut album, out Friday. The project is expected to be an extension of the artist Adéla is becoming, who has been carving out an identity that is entirely her own — one built on sharp-edged pop, unapologetic lyrics and a willingness to turn the messier parts of young womanhood into music.
For those who have only recently discovered Adéla, however, PRIMA is a perfect excuse to look back at (or discover for the first time) the songs that brought her to this moment. Her catalog may still be relatively compact, but it already showcases an artist who is unafraid to experiment with different sides of her personality. From glossy, attitude-filled pop anthems to more personal moments of reflection, Adéla has spent her early releases establishing the foundation for what is set to become her first full-length statement.
That journey has also brought her to an increasingly wider audience. As anticipation builds for PRIMA, fans have gotten to know Adéla through songs that demonstrate her confidence, ambition and occasionally chaotic sense of humor — qualities that have helped distinguish her in a bit of a crowded pop space.
Before PRIMA officially drops, Billboard is taking a look back at six songs worth revisiting, or simply discovering for the first time. Whether you’re a longtime fan who has been following Adéla since her earliest solo releases or a newcomer curious about the artist behind her growing buzz, these tracks offer a glimpse at the musical path that led to her debut album.
