Newark Uber Eats driver delivers order near cemetery. Then his dash cam catches ‘ghost’ trying to get into his car: ‘Bro drive’

A Newark, New Jersey, Uber Eats driver drove by a cemetery. Then he claimed his car started vibrating on its own.

Marcus, a food delivery driver (@marcus.wilson.xc on TikTok), wrote in his caption, “You live near a cemetery, you better cancel your order or get you another driver.” The reason why? He had to stop his car because of “paranormal activity.” His initial post has more than 1.6 million views. A subsequent update with a map of the cemetery included in it received more than 26,000 views.

New Jersey Uber Eats Driver Claims to See Something Paranormal

Marcus had a dash camera recording his Uber Eats drive. At first, everything was normal. Then the content creator noticed he was driving by the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, as identified by the content creator’s update video.

The interior dash camera captured the first “paranormal activity” he noticed. A quick blur passed over the camera, which appeared to be a shadow. The TikToker claimed that was the moment a ghost entered the vehicle.

Then, other things started happening. Marcus claimed that his car had been “vibrating.”

According to him, it sounded like someone was tapping his window. But there was no one around him.

“I didn’t get the passenger window vibrating but that [expletive] was vibrating HARD,” Marcus wrote in the video’s description.

Marcus said he saw a collection of shoes near the cemetery that moved on their own, which he showed in the video. He also claimed that the ghost was trying to open his car door during the encounter. Toward the end of his video, his passenger-side door appeared to open and close by itself. The content creator added that he thought an apparition was trying to mess with him.

“It was trying to trick me into going outside so it can get in,” Marcus wrote in the video’s description. “It was already tapping that window like it wanted to hop in.”

He later paused the ride at some point during the encounter to record outside.

Is There an Explanation for the Apparition?

While there’s not a specific explanation for everything Marcus encountered, there are reasonable possibilities as to what happened that night.

Marcus’ camera, for instance, may have detected a quick movement that it wasn’t able to fully render.

Marcus appeared to be recording the initial encounter with the “apparition” while using a Vantrue dash camera. CarExplorer called Marcus’ camera, the N2X, “exceptional.” “It delivers flawless 2.7K front footage and completely illuminates the backseat with its 4 IR LEDs,” the publication wrote. The interior camera, which captured the shadow or blur, is notably “capped at 1080p.” The interior camera runs at 30fps with a 45° rotatable lens.

Other publications, like Chuck Driver, noted that the N2X has an optional “Circular Polarizing Filter (CPL Filter),” which reduces reflections. It’s unclear if Marcus used it during the encounter.

‘Should Have Started Praying’

Commenters seemed to struggle to find any specific ways to debunk Marcus’ video, although a few viewers claimed the footage he shared was fake.

“This so fake and yall gullible,” one viewer said. 

One commenter said that the encounter had more evidence of paranormal activity than “a ghost hunter’s episode.”

“I rebuke anything negative in the name of Jesus,” another viewer said.
