Jadakiss’ New Rap Has Him Back In Battle Mode

Jadakiss appears to answer 38 Spesh with bars that have everybody going crazy!

Jadakiss is reminding everybody why he is him.

His reputation as one of the best gets missed from time to time. But, this career took decades to build now takes only a few bars to defend. Kiss has been in a chess match with Rochester’s own 38 Spesh and we finally got the response we’ve been looking for.

What started as a podcast conversation has now turned into one of the most entertaining rap debates of the summer.

Spesh recently appeared on a podcast and revisited the long standing story surrounding “Sunday School,” a collaboration with Benny the Butcher and Jadakiss…way back in 2019. Spesh believes he outrapped Jada on the record. OK. He went even further, suggesting Jadakiss has been avoiding him because he was outshined. OK.

Uh, Spesh is no slouch, but he’s also no Jadakiss either. And that is with the utmost respect. Spesh is dope, but Kiss is a generational act.

Jadakiss did not exactly lose his cool, but he definitely was not about to let that slide unanswered. First, he responded online, essentially telling Spesh to “be serious.” He also explained that life looks different these days. Between business ventures, family responsibilities and raising children, recording verses is not always at the top of the daily agenda. That response felt measured. But WE KNEW KISS WAS GONNA TALK TO ‘EM.

Jada announced he was headed to the studio to do some “samurai swording,” letting everybody know the pen still works just fine. There is a leak where Kiss’s verse with Stove God Cooks and Fat Joe with what I believe to be shots aimed directly at Spesh.

“Is this about a verse or a career?”

“The flow sick but you wouldn’t know because of HIPAA laws”

That sounds like classic Jadakiss. Just about anybody can have a great verse at this point. Building a Hall of Fame résumé is another conversation. I think Spesh is definitely “one of those” for the current era. I think they need to peace up. Kiss ain’t going back and forth but so much.

For the record, Spesh never questioned Jadakiss’ legacy. He’s just focused on one song.

Honestly, I like this kind of tension. There is no disrespect, no social media insults spiraling into nonsense and no manufactured outrage. This is two respected lyricists defending their positions the old fashioned way. Hip-Hop wins.

Now the only question is whether 38 Spesh fires back. Somebody joked, “You know Spesh is going to do a whole album off of this.”
