Chappell Roan Says Daisy Chain Fields Reignited Her Love of Performing: ‘Didn’t Realize How Much I Missed It’

The first-ever Daisy Chain Fields has wrapped, but the love fest it inspired continues on. In a post after the charity festival, performer Chappell Roan gushed about the experience and praised organizer Olivia Rodrigo, while also revealing that the event reignited her own hunger for playing shows.

“Thank you for having me @daisychainfields !” Roan began on Monday (Aug. 31), sharing photos on Instagram of her rocking a purple outfit and makeup look on stage. “@oliviarodrigo u r so inspiring in so many ways. We need artists like u who use their platform for good and are such a light in the world. Thank you for being you and supporting artists like me , u have changed my life in so many ways <3”

“It felt so good to perform again, I didn’t realize how much I missed it,” the hitmaker continued. “Really lived out my fifth element fantasy.”

In the comments, Rodrigo gushed back: “u inspire me so much and I am so lucky to know u!”

Daisy Chain Fields on Saturday (Aug. 29) marked Roan’s first live show in months, aside from her guest appearance at Noah Kahan’s concert at Rose Bowl Stadium earlier in August. Aside from a few festival appearances in February and May, the Missouri native has spent much of 2026 out of the public eye as she presumably works on the follow-up to her breakout 2023 album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in August 2024.

Roan and Rodrigo have been friends for many years, with both ladies frequently collaborating with producer Dan Nigro. The “Subway” singer was one of Rodrigo’s openers on both the Sour Tour in 2022 and the Guts World Tour in 2024.

In addition to Roan, the lineup for Daisy Chain Fields included Devon Again — who filled in for KATSEYE after the girl group withdrew from the festival after member Megan sprained her ankle — as well as Mitski, Doechii, The Breeders, Garbage, Bikini Kill and more. Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette also joined Rodrigo’s headlining set at the end of the night as special guests.

All of the proceeds from the event will go toward charities supporting women and girls, with Rodrigo announcing recently that ticket sales had raised $10 million for benefiting organizations such as Planned Parenthood and Center for Reproductive Rights. Shortly afterward, Melinda French Gates matched the donation, bringing it up to $20 million.
