Quavo honors his late nephew Takeoff on what would’ve been his 32nd birthday with a heartfelt Instagram message celebrating his legacy.
ARTICLE:
Quavo took to Instagram on Thursday (June 18) to honor what would’ve been his nephew’s 32nd birthday, sharing a tribute that captured the weight of nearly four years without him.
The message was simple but powerful, a reminder that Takeoff’s absence still cuts deep in the Hip-Hop community and within the Migos family itself.
“Happy Rocket Day 2 Tha Original Drank God,” Quavo wrote. “Til infinity your art flow and DRIP will LIVE 4Eva MY BROTHA!!! Blessings.”

Takeoff was gunned down on November 1, 2022, outside 810 Billiards & Bowling in downtown Houston during an argument that erupted at a private party.
He was just 28 years old when he died.
Patrick Xavier Clark has been charged with murder in connection to the killing, and according to AllHipHop reporting, jury selection is scheduled to begin on November 5, 2026, with the trial expected to follow shortly after.
Clark has maintained his innocence throughout the legal process.
What’s become clear in the years since Takeoff’s death is just how essential he was to Migos’ sound and chemistry.
He wasn’t just a member of the group, he was the connective tissue that held everything together.
His passing forced Quavo and Offset to confront their differences and ultimately reconcile, which speaks volumes about Takeoff’s role as the heart of the trio.
The two reunited publicly at the 2023 BET Awards, marking their first performance together since the tragedy.
More recently, Quavo and Offset have been spotted in the studio together, fueling speculation about new music on the horizon.
In May 2026, the two were photographed working on multiple projects, including a posthumous Takeoff album, a sequel to their “UNC N PHEW” collaboration, and what could be the final Migos album.
Quavo and Takeoff previously released “Dope Boy Phone” in 2025, proving that their creative partnership continues to produce meaningful work even in his absence.
The studio sessions suggest that Takeoff’s legacy isn’t just being remembered, it’s being actively built upon by those who loved him most.
