As Madonna materializes at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated July 18) with the debut of Confessions II, she achieves a landmark 10th leader, as well as another impressive distinction in Billboard chart history.
With her latest triumph, the Queen of Pop becomes one of just four acts to have earned at least 10 No. 1s on both of Billboard’s two leading album and song charts, the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Hot 100.
The Billboard 200 began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in March 1956, while the Hot 100 launched in August 1958.
Madonna scored her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in February 1985 with her second studio album, Like a Virgin. On the Hot 100, she has posted 12 No. 1s. Her first was “Like a Virgin,” in December 1984, and her most recent was “Music,” in September–October 2000.

Confessions II marks Madonna’s first new studio album since 2019’s Billboard 200 No. 1 Madame X. The new collection serves as a sequel to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor — her sixth leader — and reunites her with Stuart Price, who largely produced both LPs with Madonna.
Confessions II was preceded by the Hot 100 hit “Bring Your Love,” with Sabrina Carpenter. The song reached No. 74 in May and has scaled multiple radio airplay charts, along with the set’s “I Feel So Free,” a No. 1 on Dance Airplay, and “Love Sensation,” which this week struts to the tally’s top 10.
The new album also boasts collabs with Feid, Martin Garrix, Stromae and Madonna’s daughter Lola Leon and houses additional production and musical contributions from the likes of Arca, Cirkut, Mirwais, Tainy and Watt.
As Madonna adds to her legendary chart history, browse the select four acts with 10 or more No. 1s on both the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 and all their leading titles below.
