Yella Beezy Takes Massive Loss As Judge Allows Rap Songs Into Capital Murder Trial

Yella Beezy’s music is heading to the jury box as a Dallas judge clears two of his tracks as trial evidence.
Yella Beezy took a loss Monday as a Dallas County judge cleared two of his songs to play for the jury at trial.
The ruling is a split, but it cuts against Conway more than it helps. Prosecutors wanted more songs admitted as motive evidence, and those got blocked, along with an Instagram Live video from the day Mo3 was killed. That’s something, but two songs in front of a capital murder jury is still two songs.
The two Beezy tracks and Mo3’s “2-Nineteen” made the cut, with FOX 4 reporting they reflect the feud between the pair. Conway’s defense has argued throughout pretrial hearings that rap music is performance and that lyrics shouldn’t be treated as a real-world confession.

The prosecution’s witness list got revealed this week, and it’s a loaded one. Mo3’s manager, Benjamin Rainwater; Beezy’s girlfriend, D’Andrea Harris; and Mo3’s mother, Nichole Noble, are all expected to testify.
Dallas rapper Trap Boy Freddy, who’s recorded with Beezy but hasn’t been charged, is also on the list.
Co-defendants Kewon Dontrell White and Devin Maurice Brown are on the list too, and White’s spot adds serious pressure.
He’s already serving eight years and nine months on federal firearms charges tied to the shooting, and his own murder trial opens August 24. Prosecutors allege Beezy paid White to carry out the hit on Melvin Noble, who was shot on Interstate 35E on November 11, 2020.
This feud started in Dallas’ Oak Cliff in the mid-2010s and turned uglier after comedian Roylee Pate died in 2018.
Pate had publicly clowned Beezy and ran close with Mo3, and the full history of this case is one of the grimmer Dallas Hip-Hop stories in recent memory.
Beezy’s bond was reduced from $2 million to $750,000 ahead of a trial where he faces life without parole or the death penalty.
