Sidney Starr Wants Out Of Jail As Georgia Sex Case Advances

Sidney Starr is pleading for freedom after spending ten days jailed without bond over three felony sex-crime charges involving a boy.

In court papers obtained by TMZ, Starr argued that no evidence identifies her as a flight risk and said she has no criminal history.

Starr described herself as “indigent” and requested a “nominal bond,” saying she has always lived in Chicago and works in the “television industry.”

Hapeville police arrested Starr August 2 at an Embassy Suites near Atlanta after a hotel worker reported an alleged assault involving a juvenile.

Authorities charged her with aggravated child molestation, sodomy and sexual battery against a child under 16, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

“Because this case involves a juvenile, no additional information will be released from our agency,” police said.

Arrest warrants allege Starr performed oral sex on the boy inside her hotel room, although Starr reportedly told investigators the encounter was consensual.

Police records say Starr claimed the teenager approached her, called her “cute” and answered “18” when she asked how old he was.

The arrest then produced an infamous detail when officers searched Starr after removing her cellphone from a pocket.

“When they removed her cell phone, they said ‘an open condom fell from the same pocket,’ while another condom was also found,” AllHipHop previously reported.

Officials reportedly assigned Starr to the jail’s protected LGBTQ unit because her transgender status may make her vulnerable among other detainees.

Starr has “unequivocally” denied the accusations and said she “intends to vigorously defend herself through the legal process.”

“Allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process,” her statement added.

Starr first gained national attention by falsely claiming a sexual relationship with Chingy after taking a photograph with the St. Louis rapper.

She apologized in 2012, then converted the notoriety into appearances on Atlanta Plastic, Botched, Maury, Empire and Baddies ATL.

Her biggest television opportunity arrived during Season 9 of Love & Hip Hop: New York, where she pursued music while working with Rich Dollaz.

Starr is scheduled to return to Fulton County Superior Court on August 25, where her request for bond could be addressed.

Under Georgia law, an aggravated child molestation conviction carries life imprisonment or at least 25 years behind bars followed by lifetime probation.
