JPMorgan Executive Fired After Viral Knicks Parade Trash Can Theft

A viral Knicks parade video cost a JPMorgan Chase executive her job after dumped trash onto a sidewalk and left with a commemorative city garbage can.
Angie Báez probably never imagined a Knicks championship parade souvenir would cost her a high-powered Wall Street job.
Damn, my BX Latina Queen.
The former JPMorgan Chase executive has become the latest accidental internet celebrity after a viral video showed her dumping trash onto a Manhattan sidewalk. After doing the deed, she is seen walking away with a limited-edition Knicks-themed garbage can during New York City’s championship celebration. YIKES.
The ordeal, which had her so happy reportedly ended with her termination.
According to reports, Báez, 40, served as Executive Director of Community and Industry Engagement for Card and Connected Commerce at JPMorgan Chase. Sources told the New York Post that the bank launched an internal review. The company has confirmed that she was no longer employed there.
It was so New York when it happened. Dressed head-to-toe in Knicks colors, Báez is seen emptying the contents of a special blue-and-orange public trash can onto the street. She then takes the receptacle away. She then is seeing on the subway with the bin as if it were the hottest piece of Knicks merchandise in town. Ma’am, it is a trash can.

Before the incident, Báez was a real people’s champ. She built a career around inclusion, community engagement and corporate leadership. She previously worked in diversity and inclusion roles at several major companies and was celebrated as someone whose “dedication to making a positive impact shines through in every aspect of her work.”
Now, she is a sign of the city’s disassociation with the savagery. I mean, come on. they had everything from fights to licking toes. But, I guess they drew a hard line here.
The New York City Department of Sanitation said: “Dumping trash onto the street and stealing public property for your own personal use are both illegal, antisocial behaviors, and not what New Yorkers do. On top of all that, doing both on camera is incredibly stupid.” I am so sorry, but based on my social media feed, that is exactly what New Yorkers do. And did.
The NYPD says no complaint has been filed and Báez has not been charged with a crime.
That is good. She just got caught up in the hype. And yet, the people are ot giving her a pass. She probably could’ve done something else like a selfie in the crowd. Or twerking as somebody punched her backside, which actually happened.
I think she will be back.
That orange-and-blue garbage can and her Knicks experience was a really expensive lesson.
