‘State/federal funding to employ people like this.’
A man captures on camera the moment an Oklahoma state park worker calls him “delusional” for trying to get a noon check-in.
TikTok creator Jack Ryan (@jackryan4455) posted a video of the exchange. He is at Boiling Springs State Park in Woodward County, seemingly attempting to rent a cabin earlier than the standard check-in time.
“Go ahead and repeat it,” Ryan says to start the video. The employee behind the counter replies, “I said you are delusional for lying to me to think that you can come in at noon because the policy is 4 o’clock.”

Ryan interrupts to ask the employee’s name. “My name is none of your business,” she says. “Thank you. You may have a nice day because I’m not going to rent you a cabin now.”

In the caption, Ryan wrote, “Boiling Springs State Park … employee, all because I asked to check in at noon.”
He followed up in the comments section. “You know, it’s not even about the noon check-in,” he wrote. “That was a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ Sometimes the cabins aren’t clean and available for check in, I get that. It’s the fact that it escalated past that to her getting disrespectful and calling me a liar and delusional like I’ve never been there before.”
According to TravelOK, the Boiling Springs State Park is one of seven original state parks built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. It is home to a swimming pool, a 7-acre spring-fed lake, and an extensive trail system. There are also cabins and campsites available for booking.
Was This Man ‘Lying’ to the Oklahoma State Park Employee?
The website doesn’t explicitly state a check-in policy, but we can look into hotel check-in and check-out guidelines more generally.
According to Agilysys, many hotels adopt a standard check-in time of around 3 to 4 p.m. That leaves plenty of time to ensure the previous guest is gone and the room is cleaned between reservations.
Of course, that timeframe is flexible under the right circumstances and for the right price. So, it seems like Ryan did the right thing in asking for an early check-in, even if it wasn’t available. It’s unclear, then, why the situation escalated into such a tense back-and-forth.
One potential explanation is the fact that, according to ZipRecruiter, Oklahoma State Park employees work a demanding job that requires customer service, crowd management, and administrative skills to accomplish.
The Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department has a feedback form on its website where travelers can turn with concerns about a state park reservation. Additionally, the department can be contacted by phone at 405-522-9500.
AllHipHop was unable to reach Ryan, but we contacted the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department via online contact form for comment.
