Yung Miami is carrying the torch for one of Hip-Hop’s most storied institutions as Uptown Records officially resurrects itself for a landmark 40-year milestone.

The legendary label, which shaped the sound of an entire generation through Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and The Notorious B.I.G., is back in business with a fresh roster and a mission to develop the next wave of culturally significant artists.

Danielle Price Sanders now leads the charge as President, bringing decades of industry expertise to a label that’s already generating serious momentum.

The multiplatinum artist’s solo trajectory has become the defining narrative of 2026, and her partnership with Uptown represents a full-circle moment for both parties.

Her track “Spend Dat” has become inescapable, climbing from a #66 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 to #34 in just three weeks, marking her first Top 40 entry as a solo artist.

The song’s 700% surge from its initial week demonstrates the kind of organic cultural penetration that separates genuine hits from temporary trends. Radio stations made it their #1 most-added record at Rhythm, while TikTok creators have generated over 500,000 uses of the track, cementing its status as the undeniable song of the summer across every major publication.
