Will Smith’s Ex-Friend Best Friend Homeless & Broke While Fighting Jada Pinkett Smith $32K Bill

Bilaal Salaam claims he’s certified homeless and on welfare, asking a judge to reduce the $32K he owes Jada Pinkett Smith after losing his lawsuit.
Bilaal Salaam is now facing the reality of a courtroom loss that’s hitting his wallet hard, and he’s asking a judge to ease the financial burden he can’t seem to escape.
The former friend of Will Smith filed paperwork claiming he’s certified homeless and living on welfare benefits, requesting that the court either slash the $32,000-plus in attorney’s fees he owes to Jada Pinkett Smith or work out some kind of payment arrangement.
He’s not denying the debt, but he’s saying his current situation makes it impossible to pay what the judge ordered.
This whole situation traces back to a lawsuit Bilaal filed against Jada after he refused to help Will manage the fallout from the Chris Rock Oscars incident.
He claimed that Jada and her associates threatened him, allegedly telling him he’d “catch a bullet” if he kept sharing details about the family’s private business.
The court wasn’t convinced by his emotional distress claims, and according to TMZ, the judge sided with Jada after her legal team proved he had no medical records, psychological evaluations, or any professional documentation supporting his allegations.
What’s interesting is how Bilaal’s been running his mouth in the court of public opinion while his actual legal case crumbled.
He’s been making increasingly wild accusations on the “Unwine With Tasha K” podcast, claiming he witnessed things involving Will, Tyrese, and stolen videotapes of celebrities.
“That’s why me and Jada’s relationship became so toxic toward the end, because she thought I stole these videos of her with other people,” he told Tasha K. “I saw some things that were unreal. And I saw celebrities on the tapes…it’s gonna come out.”
The contrast between his media blitz and his courtroom reality is telling.
While he’s been building a narrative in interviews, the judge dismantled his case piece by piece, pointing out that simply claiming emotional distress without evidence doesn’t hold up in court.
Jada denied all his allegations, and the legal system agreed with her assessment.
Now Bilaal’s stuck between his public claims and his private financial crisis, asking the court for mercy on a judgment he can’t pay.
