Young Guru Backs Roc Nation School With Full-Tuition Opportunity: How To Apply

Young Guru’s backing a full-tuition scholarship at Roc Nation School, offering mentorship and studio access to one lucky student starting Fall 2026.
Young Guru is putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to developing the next generation of music industry talent.
The Grammy Award-winning audio engineer and producer just announced he’s sponsoring a full-tuition scholarship for one lucky student heading to the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at Long Island University.
This isn’t his first time doing this either, but the scale and commitment show how serious he is about education and mentorship.
The scholarship covers four full years of tuition, which is no small investment.
Students interested in applying need to submit their applications by July 17, 2026 through apply.liu.edu/rn.
They can go the written route or drop a video entry that’s no longer than three minutes.
The prompts are straightforward: How do you define success? How will this scholarship help you become the best version of yourself? Where do you see yourself in ten years and what’s your plan to get there?
The winner gets way more than just tuition covered.
They’ll shadow Young Guru throughout the entire academic year and work directly with him inside the Roc Nation School’s state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos-enabled Professional Studio. Beyond that, they’re eligible for the Dean’s Scholars Program, which opens doors to professional mentorship, networking opportunities, and exclusive career development programming.
Young Guru said education and mentorship have always been central to everything he does.
Young Guru serves as Director of the Music Technology, Entrepreneurship & Production program at the school, so he’s not just throwing money at the problem.
He’s actively involved in shaping how students learn and develop their skills. The Roc Nation School itself has become a serious pipeline for music industry professionals since it started enrolling students in Fall 2021.
The institution already provides Hope Scholarships to 25 percent of its student, making education accessible to talented kids who might not otherwise afford it.
He’s part of a growing crew of major artists investing in the school’s future.
DJ Khaled, Megan Thee Stallion, and LaMelo Ball have all established scholarships there too.
Earlier this month, Young Guru hosted a free masterclass called “Inside the Mix: Young Guru in the Studio” at the Dolby Atmos facility, giving students a rare look at the creative and technical processes behind some of hip-hop’s most iconic records.
Applications close at 11:59 p.m. ET on July 17, 2026, and the scholarship is specifically for students enrolling in the Fall 2026 semester.
