BiC Fizzle faces a first-degree murder charge after his arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that left one man dead in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on July 6.
The 23-year-old Blytheville rapper, whose real name is Jeremiah Edrick Northern, was booked into Craighead County Detention Center on Tuesday following the incident at the 3500 block of Fairview Drive.
Police say he and another suspect attempted to rob victims when gunfire erupted, resulting in at least one fatality.
According to KAIT8, investigators have not yet disclosed which of the two male victims was killed in the shooting, nor have they publicly identified the second suspect in the robbery attempt.
The arrest marks another troubling chapter for a young artist who’d been building momentum since signing to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records in 2021.
BiC Fizzle released “Servin” that same year and followed up with his debut album Clark Street Baby in 2023, earning cosigns from his label boss on tracks like “On God” and “TrapMania.”
He’d positioned himself as one of Arkansas’ most promising young talents before this arrest derailed everything.
What’s particularly striking is how BiC Fizzle’s legal troubles fit a disturbing pattern at 1017 Records.
The label has become synonymous with artists facing serious criminal charges, creating what fans and observers have called the “1017 curse.”
Foogiano, another 1017 signee, was arrested in 2021 after cutting off his ankle monitor and fleeing home, ultimately serving five years in prison before his release.
He was arrested again shortly after for probation violations.
Pooh Shiesty, perhaps the label’s most high-profile artist, was released from federal custody in October 2025 after serving three years for a firearms conspiracy conviction stemming from a 2023 Miami shooting incident.
But Shiesty’s troubles didn’t end there.
In 2026, he was arrested alongside his father and seven others on federal kidnapping and armed robbery charges, accused of targeting Gucci Mane himself in Dallas.
Prosecutors allege Shiesty pulled a gun during a recording session and forced Gucci to sign paperwork releasing him from his contract. His trial is scheduled for February 2027, and he remains in federal custody.
The pattern raises uncomfortable questions about the label’s environment and the circumstances surrounding its artists.
Whether it’s systemic issues, the backgrounds of the young men Gucci signs, or simply a string of unfortunate coincidences, 1017 Records has become defined by legal chaos as much as musical output.
BiC Fizzle’s arrest adds another name to a growing list of artists whose careers have been interrupted or derailed by criminal charges.
