Ye’s Legal Bill Might Skyrocket As Handyman Case Could Drain His Wallet

Ye’s handyman lawsuit just got way more expensive. The rapper now faces $1.23 million in attorney fees on top of his $140,000 damages award.
Ye is staring down a legal bill that’s about to get a whole lot heavier. The rapper’s handyman lawsuit just took a turn that could cost him millions more than the initial verdict, and his legal team is bracing for impact.
Tony Saxon, who worked on Ye’s $57.3 million Malibu mansion in 2021, won a jury verdict in March 2026 ordering the artist to pay $140,000 in damages.
But that’s just the beginning of what’s coming his way.
The real damage comes from attorney fees, which, according to MyNewsLA, are now being requested at $1.23 million.
Saxon’s legal team at West Coast Trial Lawyers spent over $300,000 fighting this case, and they’re asking the court to make Ye cover all of it.
When a defendant loses on labor code violations, courts often award the winning side’s legal costs, which is exactly what’s happening here.
This isn’t unusual in employment disputes, but the numbers are massive because Ye’s defense was expensive and the case dragged on for years.
Saxon claimed he was forced to sleep on the mansion’s floor while working as a security guard and was fired in November 2021 after refusing to comply with what he called “dangerous requests.”
He also alleged that workers demolished parts of the house without proper safety equipment while Ye ignored his complaints.
The jury found merit in his labor code violation claims, even though they rejected some of his other allegations. Ye’s team is already counter-suing Saxon and his attorneys over a $1.8 million lien they placed on the property, claiming it was wrongfully done.
This lawsuit is just one of many legal headaches Ye’s been dealing with lately.
His former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, sued him in June 2024 for sexual harassment and wrongful termination, seeking millions in damages.
Multiple employees from his Donda Academy also filed suits alleging hostile work environments and wrongful termination.
In 2022, Ye lost major partnerships with Adidas and Gap following antisemitic statements, which created additional financial and reputational fallout.
The legal battles surrounding his business ventures show a pattern of expensive disputes that keep piling up.
