‘You left her $10 more than I would.’
A South Carolina woman says what was supposed to be a relaxing dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings after an exhausting workday turned into a frustrating dining experience that left her questioning the restaurant’s service.
On July 14, @thewitchisback_1013 posted a TikTok sharing why she was so disappointed with her experience. “So Buffalo Wild Wings is now on my [expletive] list,” she said.
What Made This Particular Experience At Buffalo Wild Wings So Frustrating?
After working 37 consecutive days without a day off, the woman said she took her 15-year-old daughter and another child she was watching to a Buffalo Wild Wings in North Myrtle Beach because the girls were craving wings.
“The poor meek young lady walks up to the table,” she said. “She’s new, and I could tell that she was new.”

According to the woman, the waitress appeared uncertain while answering questions about the menu before taking their order. She alleged they were never given silverware, napkins, drink refills, or routine check-ins throughout their meal. She claimed that a food runner, instead of the server, delivered their food. Additionally, when they needed forks, she said she had to retrieve plastic utensils herself after being unable to find the server.
She additionally said that they received their check before receiving the food.
“Never in a sit-down dining experience have I ever been given my check before we’ve even gotten the food, before we’ve even dined on anything,” she said.
Despite spending nearly $80, the woman said she still left a $10 tip because she sympathized with the server.
“I tip 30 to 50% given the service,” she said. “Rarely do I ever not give a 30% tip.”
According to the woman, the waitress apologized and admitted she had become overwhelmed.
“She said she just got overwhelmed and she was sorry about not taking care of us,” the customer recalled.
What Are the Training Requirements for Chains Like Buffalo Wild Wings?
The woman’s account of events sparked a divide among viewers, with some arguing that she should have shown more grace.
“I feel like you should’ve been this vocal when you were in the restaurant,” wrote one user. “Not on social media.”
However, the story did cause viewers to question the training practices for corporate chains such as Buffalo Wild Wings. Corporate restaurant chains like Buffalo Wild Wings typically rely on a combination of classroom-style instruction, online learning modules, and supervised on-the-floor training before new servers are expected to work independently.
Additionally, Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants are franchised or corporate-operated by different management teams. This means that training quality can vary significantly from one location to another.
