Kevin Hart Talks 72 Hours, Gen Z & Why He Gotta Sit Down
Published
3 weeks agoon
“I’m at an age where it’s time to shut the door. It’s time for me to sit my ass down. Y’all go ahead and do what you’re gonna do. Call me in the morning.”
As Kevin Hart gears up for 72 Hours, his latest comedy about a 40-year-old executive who accidentally crashes a Gen Z bachelor party, the superstar comedian admits there’s one part of the movie that doesn’t reflect real life.
Asked whether he could actually keep up with a group of 20-somethings for three straight days, Hart didn’t hesitate. He knows the deal.
Instead, he delivered the kind of brutally honest answer that has made him one of the world’s biggest comedians.

Here’s our quick conversation.
AllHipHop: Let’s get into this movie, 72 Hours. Do you think you could really hang with a bunch of Gen Zers?
Kevin Hart: Do I think in real life? Um, no. No, no. I’m at an age where it’s time to shut the door. It’s time for me to sit my ass down. Y’all go ahead and do what you’re gonna do. Call me when you get back or call me in the morning.
I’m more of a morning doer now. Y’all want to go to breakfast, early lunch, y’all want to go to brunch, hit me and I’m your guy.
I think what this generation is doing is amazing. It’s full of groundbreakers, entrepreneurs and influencers that are finding so many different ways to raise the bar in entertainment. They’re not done.
You can either get on the train or get left behind. I got on the train with some amazing talent in this movie, and I’m very lucky to have worked with these guys. I’m excited to see what they’re going to do next.
AllHipHop: If you accidentally jumped into a group chat with a bunch of Gen Zers, what would they roast you about?
Kevin Hart: Right now, pretty much everything’s fair game.
My lack of ability to understand what the f**k is actually going on. That’ll probably be the biggest one.
Also, I’m in constant pain, so my body’s falling apart. That’s probably something else that’s on the table.
And my newfound love for the sport of golf. If it ain’t golf, it ain’t life.
Those are probably the things they’d attack the most.
AllHipHop: Can we get a quick shout-out for AllHipHop?
Kevin Hart: Absolutely, man. Shouts out to AllHipHop. Continue to do what you’re doing.
You’re necessary. You need it. The culture wants you. The culture needs you. Do your job.
72 Hours will be released globally on Netflix on July 24, 2026
