Pooh Shiesty Called Dangerous Person By Dallas Federal Judge Who Denies Bond Again

Pooh Shiesty is staying locked up while his co-defendants walk free after a Dallas judge rejected his defense team’s $700,000 private security proposal on Tuesday.
Judge David Godbey made it clear there’s no arrangement that could convince him to release the Memphis rapper, calling him a “dangerous person” who poses an unacceptable risk to the public.
The contrast between his situation and that of his father and Big30 reveals how prosecutors and the court view his specific threat level in the Gucci Mane kidnapping case.
His father, Lontrell Williams Sr., got out on a $250,000 bond with house arrest conditions back in May.

Big30, the Memphis rapper who allegedly recorded the incident, secured a $100,000 bond and actually has permission to travel and perform.
Both men pleaded not guilty to the same charges, yet they’re moving around while Pooh Shiesty remains in federal custody awaiting trial.
The disparity raises questions about what makes the judge view him as fundamentally different from his co-defendants.
Prosecutors painted a damning picture during the hearing. They emphasized that Pooh Shiesty committed the alleged crime while already on supervised release for a federal firearms conspiracy conviction from 2022.
He’d been released to house arrest in Frisco just three months before the January 10 incident at a Dallas music studio.
That’s when prosecutors say he pulled an AK-style weapon called a Draco and forced Gucci Mane to sign a release from his New 1017 Records contract at gunpoint.
The situation worsened when court documents revealed that a case supervisor had created fake day passes, allowing him to travel to unapproved locations, including the studio that day.
That supervisor has since been fired.
Brandon Bess, a security expert, testified that his firm could provide the same level of protection given to an attorney general.
The judge wasn’t moved. According to TPR, Godbey stated flatly that no conditions could protect the public from Williams. The decision marks the second time he’s been denied bond in this case, and the legal strategy around his detention continues to shift as trial approaches.
His trial is scheduled for February 22, 2027, giving prosecutors and defense attorneys months to prepare their cases.
