Cardi B’s mom Clara Almánzar has been riding high ever since fans compared her to Toni Braxton backstage at the tour finale.
Cardi B is out here complaining about her own mom and it might be the most relatable thing she’s posted all year.
The Bronx rapper hopped on X after fans started comparing her mom Clara Almánzar to Toni Braxton.
“Bro ever since yall said that a couple months ago my mom been insufferable,” she wrote, noting Clara’s been “so gassed up and happy.”

The photo that started everything came from backstage at the “Little Miss Drama Tour” finale in Atlanta.
Fan account CARDIA (@ccardib2) posted it on X, and there was Clara at 60 in a strapless denim corset top with a Louis Vuitton bag on her arm.
Honey-auburn waves fell past her shoulders, her cheekbones were sharp, and the internet didn’t need much convincing from there.
The Braxton comparison spread fast and Cardi’s been dealing with the fallout at home ever since.
AllHipHop covered how Clara was already catching attention during the tour, with fans noticing how calm and unbothered she moved through her daughter’s world.
Getting compared to Toni Braxton on top of that just gave Mama B a whole new level of confidence to carry around the house.
This isn’t the first time Clara’s generated buzz, either.
She went viral in 2024 when fans couldn’t believe how young she looked, already calling her Cardi’s big sister back then.
The “Little Miss Drama” Tour just gave everybody a refresher course on why.
The Toni Braxton connection had some roots even before the internet weighed in.
Cardi namechecked Braxton on “Magnet” from Am I the Drama?, using her iconic short hair as a metaphor for cutting off what doesn’t pay.
Braxton used the song on her own Instagram after it dropped, making the whole Almánzar-Braxton connection feel a lot less accidental.
Braxton is 58 and has spent three decades reshaping what people expect aging to look like, so the comparison to Clara carries real weight.
Almánzar is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and spent years working as a cashier while staying firmly out of her daughter’s spotlight.
She walked backstage at one Atlanta show and accidentally walked out as the most talked-about woman in the building.
Am I the Drama? has since been certified triple platinum by the RIAA, per Billboard.
