Max B Fires Karen Civil, But She Says The Story Isn’t That Simple
Published
3 weeks agoon
When Max B sent us a message we had no clue what was going on. Now we have a slight clue.
Max B is finally free, back in the music business, but now he’s dealing with a different kind of drama. This time it has to do with Karen Civil. Max stunned fans when he announced that Civil was no longer part of his team. I did not know she was managing him at all. According to Max, the split happened more than a month ago.
“Karen Civil is no longer a part of my team. Ms. Civil was effectively terminated on June 28th. For all business inquiries and matters moving forward, please contact Breon or Jow directly.”
Karen Civil acknowledged the separation but painted a much different picture of how things ended. Rather than focusing on being fired, she discussed what she accomplished during Max B’s return to the spotlight.
“From supporting your return home, to securing GQ, helping position the business for its partnership with @defiantxrecords, and bringing this chapter to the BET Awards stage, @alwayscivil’s work is not complete. We are proud of everything we built together and wish you and your new team continued success!”

Then social media got in on it. I will not get into the blood-n-guts, but you know they were not nice. Max defended her from accusations of stealing from him. It seems this revolves around social media.
Later, Max claimed Karen Civil had hacked his Instagram account. That is not so simple either. “Hacked” means she dd not have permission or the password.
Civil shot down the allegation.
“Max’s IG page was not hacked,” she wrote, explaining that the Always Civil team – her company – had merely “closed out the backend access, relationships, and connections tied to that work.”
This means “we built that account…now we keeping it.”
“To provide clarity, Always Civil has concluded operating any NEW business with/for Max B since the BET Awards. Certain Max B social properties STILL will remain under the direction of @AlwaysCivil. Wishing him the best moving forward!”
That statement suggests her company still controls or manages some of Max’s digital assets, at least for the time being. Max is not having it.
“I’m not sure why you’re trying to save face, but the reality is you’ve done a lot that led me to letting you go. So getting on social media and acting like you’ve done all these great things for me is simply not true. Leave me out of your narrative, keep my name out of your mouth, and move on.”
At this point, nobody has explained what actually caused the breakup. There have been accusations, rebuttals, and conflicting versions of events, but very few specifics. One thing is clear, though. What looked like a routine business announcement has evolved into a very public dispute over credit, control, and who gets to tell the story of Max B’s comeback.
We’ll see if this ends here if she gives him the keys to the car. LOL! There’s nothing here that some money can’t fix.
