Nicki Minaj revives her COVID-era feud with Joy Reid as Alex Bruesewitz says critics owe the rapper an apology.
Nicki Minaj is circling back to her loudest COVID-era critics after Anthony Fauci’s Senate appearance reignited pandemic battles.
The Queens superstar aimed at journalist Joy Reid in an X post, writing as if she were continuing one of Fauci’s diary entries.
“Dear Joy, Reid the rest of my diary entries to see how I used ignorant loud mouths like you to further my evil agenda of fear mongering & shaming to ensure that people couldn’t ask innocent questions about a new vaccine. Love, Fauci Ouchie. P.S. she’s not ugly (on the outside),” Minaj wrote.

The jab came after Fauci repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment during a Senate hearing led by Sen. Rand Paul. The hearing centered on COVID-19 origins, government-funded research and Fauci’s pandemic statements, giving Minaj fresh ammunition in a fight she has carried since 2021.
That year, Reid blasted Minaj after the rapper said she was still researching the vaccines and relayed an unverified story about her cousin’s friend allegedly suffering reproductive problems after receiving a shot.
“For you to use your platform to encourage our community to not protect themselves and save their lives, my God sister, you could do better than that,” Reid said. “You got that platform. It’s a blessing. It’s a blessing that you got that. That people listen to you and they listen to you more than they listen to me.”
Reid added that Minaj was putting people “in the position of dying from a disease they don’t have to die from,” saying she was disappointed as a Hip-Hop fan.
Minaj accused Reid of twisting her position and ignoring tweets in which she said she would probably get vaccinated before touring.
“This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets,” Minaj wrote. “‘My God SISTER do better’ imagine getting ur dumb ass on tv a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman.”
Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz also revived the dispute, reposting a 2021 clip of Fauci criticizing Minaj and declaring, “A lot of people owe @nickiminaj an apology.”
Five years later, Minaj is framing Fauci’s silence as vindication and demanding scrutiny for the people who shamed her.
