Pacquiao Promotions CEO Jas Mathur seeks more than $8.3 million as Floyd Mayweather’s business disputes continue expanding.
Manny Pacquiao’s promotion chief has dragged Floyd Mayweather’s former money man into an $8.3 million court fight packed with costly allegations.
Jas Mathur, CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, sued Jona Rechnitz and his father Robert in California Superior Court, according to Boxing Insider.
Pacquiao is not a plaintiff, and Mayweather is not a defendant, but the complaint places both champions inside Rechnitz’s tangled business network.
Mathur accuses Rechnitz of fraud, theft, asset conversion and violating fiduciary duties and a prior settlement during their nearly decade-long relationship.

The complaint calls his alleged conduct “a calculated and relentless playbook of lies, broken promises, and outright theft.” The lawsuit seeks punitive damages, accumulated interest, and legal expenses, in addition to Mathur’s claimed financial losses, totaling more than $8.3 million.
Mathur alleges Rechnitz used a blank check bearing Mayweather’s signature to obtain five luxury watches before pawning them without Mayweather’s approval.
He further claims Rechnitz displayed trust-account statements, repeatedly promised payment and later engineered the seizure of Mathur’s $1 million Ferrari.
Neither Rechnitz defendant has publicly answered the allegations, leaving their side absent from the current court fight.
Rechnitz’s attorney previously called Mayweather’s separate $175 million fraud complaint “utterly baseless” and said available records contradict Mayweather’s allegations.
“He added that his clients intend to defend the case and that he believes Mayweather will end up paying damages to them.”
The dispute adds another barrier after the proposed Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch was postponed amid overlapping contracts and battles over promotional rights.
Pacquiao’s camp blamed “a volatile mix of federal lawsuits, scheduling overbooks, and financial gridlock completely surrounding the Mayweather camp.” Mathur separately said, “The same fight was double sold.”
Mayweather’s courtroom problems date through the requested period, including a 2022 counterclaim involving a planned Dubai exhibition against Logan Paul.
A man sued Mayweather and Lil Uzi Vert in 2024 over an alleged 2023 street assault, which the rapper’s representative firmly denied.
During 2026, two jewelers and a Manhattan landlord sued Mayweather over alleged unpaid bills, while a charter company pursued $105,690.
CSI Sports Events also seeks $4.65 million from advances tied to proposed Tyson and Pacquiao bouts, another lawsuit Mayweather disputes.
Meanwhile, Mayweather launched $340 million claims against Showtime and a $175 million case against Rechnitz and several business associates.
The Pacquiao rematch remains postponed indefinitely while Mathur’s newly announced complaint awaits responses from Jona and Robert Rechnitz.
