Famous Nipsey Hussle Lowrider Could Sell For Six Figures

The Baby Blue lowrider featured beside Nipsey Hussle in “Higher” is expected to command as much as $225,000 in Monterey.

Nipsey Hussle’s legacy could drive the price of a custom 1959 Chevrolet Impala past $200,000 when the famous lowrider hits the auction block this week.

The Baby Blue Impala appeared in DJ Khaled’s 2019 “Higher” video featuring Nipsey and John Legend. According to Mecum Auctions, the car carries a presale estimate between $175,000 and $225,000.

The Sport Coupe will cross the block as Lot F120 on Friday (August 14) during Mecum Monterey 2026 at California’s Del Monte Golf Course.

Its screen time alongside Nipsey gives the car a cultural value that stretches far beyond its mechanical parts.

DJ Khaled filmed the “Higher” video with Nipsey shortly before the rapper was fatally shot outside his Marathon Clothing store in South Los Angeles on March 31, 2019. Khaled released the visual in May 2019 as a tribute and announced that proceeds from the song would benefit Nipsey’s children.

The collaboration appeared on Khaled’s Father of Asahd album and later earned Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 2020 Grammy Awards.

“I even told him, ‘We’re going to win a GRAMMY.’ Because that’s how I feel about my album,” Khaled told Billboard before the victory. “I really feel like not only is this my biggest, this is very special.”

That Grammy became one of two posthumous awards Nipsey received that night. As AllHipHop previously reported, he also won Best Rap Performance for “Racks In The Middle” with Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy.

Now, one of the most recognizable pieces from the “Higher” visual is available to a collector with deep pockets.

The Impala packs a 283-cubic-inch V-8 engine with camel-hump cylinder heads and a Turbo Hydramatic 350 automatic transmission. Power steering, power brakes and an aluminum radiator are also included.

However, the car’s custom hydraulic suspension gives it a real lowrider attitude. Multiple batteries and hydraulic equipment stored in the trunk power a dash-controlled system that can lift and bounce the vehicle.

Dayton wire wheels, whitewall tires and a Tri-Tone Blue interior complete the build. The cabin also features power windows, a custom sound system and a Public Enemy LA Car Club plate.

Mecum has not identified the current owner, and its estimate does not guarantee the final selling price. Bidders will determine what Nipsey’s appearance, the car’s craftsmanship and its place in Hip-Hop history are ultimately worth when Lot F120 crosses the block Friday.
