Skepta Slams Grown Men Over North West Interaction at Fashion Week

Skepta defended North West, saying grown men ignored the 13-year-old’s clear boundaries during an uncomfortable Paris Fashion Week encounter.

Skepta did not mince words after watching what happened to North West in Paris.

And he created a bigger conversation about celebrity kids, personal boundaries and grown folks acting like they should know better.

The UK rap vet stepped into the spotlight unexpectedly. Skepta took up for 13-year-old North West after footage from Paris Fashion Week left many uncomfortable. The clips, filmed during the Vetements fashion show, captured North greeting adults with a simple and respectful gesture. She repeatedly extended her hand for a handshake. But, s ome of the grown men around her had other ideas. ICK.

Instead of accepting the handshake, one man pulled her into a hug. Another wrapped his arm around her shoulder while posing for pictures. The videos quickly spread across social media. Where was security or her mum. I had to say mum since they were overseas.

Skepta stepped up.

“Damn the way grown men, complete strangers, try to use North makes me sick,” he wrote on X.

Skepta doubled down when the trolls started.

“She is 13 years old, and she put her hand out for a handshake, you don’t ignore that.”

That simple observation struck a chord. That should not need explaining, but people gave him a lot of respect. A child’s body language deserves to be respected – period.

Then, it went left. Should North even be attending adult fashion events? Why do Kim Kardashian and Kanye West continue allowing their daughter to participate in such high profile environments? Where was security or family members?

Then came the commentary about North’s appearance.

Some suggested her edgy fashion choices somehow blurred the lines. No, no, no! Blue pigtails, faux piercings, chunky boots and punk inspired clothing do not magically make a 13-year-old an adult. I hate the this needs to be stated.

This should not be controversial.

One thing is for sure: Skepta has my respect!
